Vietnam Military History Museum

  • B52 Victory Museum also museum of Military zone Thu Do  is located at  address 157, Doi Can Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.  Many weapons, material are being displayed here to  achieve a feat of the Hanoi People’s and army in the Dien Bien Phu battle in 1972. The museum welcomes thousand of tourists because it illustrates the victory of Hanoi people and armed forces over the strategic B-52 air raid in late December 1972 .Besides, here is a place to keep photos, the kind of mental battle, to win as well as cunning and creative capital in people’s struggle against the American empire.

    History

    The museum was set up on the 6th of November, 1986.  It is considered one of the seven national museums. In 1805, the construction of the Tower was started and was completed in 1812. Its height is nearly 31 m and its circumstance is 180 m.

    In 1972 B52 plane was a flying fortress impregnable by the U.S military government. So as to make “North Vietnam back to Neolithic” to prevent the help of the Northern for the South, a campaign was done by the U.S. to invade fierce. However, the things people are incredibly “B52 flying fortress impregnable” has been shot down.

    In 12 days and nights of the war B52 used 762 times, and thousands of tons of bombs was poured down domain North. In Hanoi, B52 was used 444 times and more than 1.000 tactical aircrafts, more than a thousand tons of bombs was thrown, killed 2380 people and injured 1355 people.

    In this war, troops of the capital Hanoi and also fought with resounding victories typically shot down 358 aircraft of U.S including 25 B52 aircraft.

    After 12 day- night 12 day-night raid, the U.S. had to sit at the negotiating table in Paris in 1973 with the terms beneficial to Vietnam.

    Museum Structure

    The museum content covers following periods:

    -          The birth of the capital city’s armed force

    -          The Vietnamese struggle against the French occupation.

    -          The establishment of forces for the reinforcement of the South.

    -          The Vietnamese struggle against American imperialists

    -          The People and the Army are oneness

    -          Piece of weaponry displayed in the museum courtyard (such as airplanes, tanks, heavy artilleries, rockets, mortars, bombs, and so forth)

    I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
