Passport Requirements for Vietnam Visa On arrival

I’m going on a trip to Vietnam Oct 18, 2013. My passport expires March 2014. Therefore, my passport has 5 months left not 6 months when I go on my trip. Will that be sufficient to apply for Visa on Arrival?

  • Dear Thomas, Thanks for your question! Please be advised that according to Vietnam immigration policy, 6 months valid passport is one of compulsory requirement to apply for Vietnam visa on arrival. Thus, in case your passport validity is 5 months, the first thing you should do is having a new passport. You can go to nearest embassy of your country to arrange a new passport. After getting a new passport with the validity more than 6 months you can apply for Vietnam visa on arrival by follow hereby simple steps: Submit application form with necessary information shown in your passport at https://www.visaforvietnam.org/apply.html . Make payment for visa approval letter via OnePay, Paypal, bank transfer or Western Union. Receive visa approval letter after 2 working days at the maximum and bring it printed out to Vietnam international (Noi Bai, Da Nang, Tan Son Nhat) airport to stamp visa. In case your date of arrival is too urgent, you can use the current passport to apply for visa, and then when you enter Vietnam, you can bring both your old and new passport. If you need further information, please let us know.Jenifer Lee.
